I dropped ANR out of my portfolio on May 8th of this year for a profit of 12.58%. I sold it at $57/SHR to secure my gains. 12.58%, you'd think is great and usually its decent profit. I sold all the shares of ANR I had. I don't take partial profits because commission fees as a percentage of my profits can stack up quickly (especially with the small position sizes I take).
Hindsight, which in stock trading is always (20/20), I should not have exited that trade. Can you guess what ANR was trading at at the close of Friday's trading day? $94.25! Now you are probably wondering why I didn't re-enter the trade. I'm an idiot and now I am kicking myself for not getting back in.
Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles.
